浮世ドット絵は、伝統的な浮世絵である歌川広重の「名所江戸百景」を下敷きに、かつてビデオゲームの描画技術であったドット絵（ピクセルアート）の手法で、現代の東京の風景を描いているシリーズ作品です。
本プロジェクトは、この浮世ドット絵に描かれた絵と場所の位置情報を、一緒にブロックチェーンに刻んでいます。
200年前の江戸の浮世絵が現代の私たちに気づきを与えるように、私たちは200年先へ浮世ドット絵を届けることができるでしょうか
“Ukiyo.E” is a series that depicts modern Tokyo landscapes using pixel art techniques—once a video game rendering method—based on the traditional Ukiyo-e prints of Utagawa Hiroshige's “One Hundred Famous Views of Edo.” This project engraves both the images depicted in these “Ukiyo.E” and the location data of the depicted places onto the blockchain. Just as Edo-period Ukiyo-e from 200 years ago offer insights to us today, can we deliver “Ukiyo.E” to the world 200 years from now?

German philosopher Walter Benjamin discussed aura in relation to the uniqueness of the “here” and “now.” According to his theory, Ukiyo-e prints produced by reproduction techniques and digital data lack aura.
However, NFTs achieved proof of uniqueness by pinning time and a web address to reproducible data. In other words, NFTs acquired their own aura. In this project, instead of a web address, we link the artwork to the GPS coordinates where it was drawn and store it on Arweave (a blockchain-based permanent online storage service).
The blockchain link tied to the artwork can only be accessed when you are physically present at that location. Through this project, the “Ukiyo.E” will acquire aura.
