霞ヶ丘よる之景

本作は2021年に延期開催された「東京オリンピック2020」の会場である、国立競技場を描いています。手前には大友克洋が1982年から連載したSF漫画「AKIRA」に登場する金田のバイク、空にはオリンピック会場の建設予定地で暴れる鉄雄に向けてレーザーを照射する人工衛星SOLが浮かんでいます。

第三次世界大戦後のネオ東京を舞台にした「AKIRA」は、世界の伝染病や東京オリンピックの競技場建設に反対する人々が登場します。本作のGIFアニメはオリンピック開催に合わせて発表され、金田のバイクが走り去ると共に「WHO」が「FOR WHOM」に書き換えられました。

Inspired by Utagawa Hiroshige

This work depicts the National Stadium, the venue for the Summer Olympics 2020 in Tokyo in 2021. In the foreground is Kaneda's motorcycle from the science fiction manga "AKIRA" serialized by Katsuhiro Otomo since 1982, and in the sky floats the satellite SOL, which beams lasers at the rampaging Tetsuo in the planned construction site of the Olympic venue.

Set in post-World War III Neo-Tokyo, "AKIRA" features a global epidemic and people opposed to the construction of the Tokyo Olympics stadium. The GIF animation for this work was released in time for the Olympics, and "WHO" was rewritten as "FOR WHOM" as Kaneda's motorcycle drives away.
